Office  Manager: Ms. Patricia Rose

Pat has been part of the Interfaith Center for Peace since February 2005, after 17 years of service for the Presbyterian Church.  She is currently a member of Maize Manor Methodist Church, where she works with hunger and community concerns.  Pat collects stamps, recipes, and cookbooks, but does little cooking!  Her main interest at this time is tracing her ancestry, and enjoying her two grandchildren.

President: Mr. Fazeel S. Khan, Esq. (Lahore Ahmadiyya Islamic Society)

Fazeel S. Khan is a civil rights and consumer protection attorney. He was born in the Fiji Islands, grew up in Canada and now resides in Ohio. Aside from his keen interest in the law, he has a passion for theology and comparative religious studies. He is the Secretary of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Islamic Society, Editor of the periodical The Light and Islamic Review, and an active participant in various inter-faith programs in the Columbus area.

 

Vice President and Secretary: Rev. Julia Nielsen Bingman (United Methodist Church)

The Reverend Julia Nielsen Bingman serves as the Executive Director of the Greater Hilltop Area Shalom Zone, an ecumenical, collaborative group of congregations and local organizations working for the revitalization of Columbus’ oldest neighborhood through justice, peace-making, and creative community development.  She is the Deacon-in-Residence and lead minister at Hilltonia and New Horizons United Methodist Charges, partners of the Shalom Zone.  Her interest in peacemaking stems from her upbringing in the Mennonite tradition and the United Methodist Social principles. 

 

Treasurer: Rev. Deb Oskin (Church of the Brethren)

Rev. Deb Oskin joined the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Center for Peace in April, 2007. She is ordained to Peace Ministry in the Church of the Brethren (one of the historic peace churches), and has worked on an interfaith basis to promote nonviolent methods of peacemaking since 2003.

As well as serving as Treasurer for the Interfaith Center for Peace, Deb currently also serves: as Co-Convener of Faith Communities Uniting for Peace; on the Executive Committee for the Ohio Council of Churches; and as District Board Chair for the 54 churches in the Southern Ohio District (1 of 23) of her denomination.

Deb has been honored with several awards in the course of her work for peace: the “Norman Thomas Award” from the Democratic Socialists of Central Ohio (May 2007); the “Human Rights Award” from Church Women United of Franklin County Ohio (October 2009); and the “I-CAIR Community Mobilization Award” from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Ohio Chapter (September 2010). She has even been interviewed by the New York Times!

Deb also works year-round for H&R Block in Hilliard, Ohio. Since joining H&R Block in 2000, she has achieved their highest level of Expertise certification (Master Tax Advisor) and Teaching certification (Certified Advanced Instructor). Deb is also federally-authorized by the IRS (as an Enrolled Agent) to prepare all kinds of tax returns and to represent all taxpayers involved in IRS examinations and audits. She specializes in clergy, nonprofit, trust, and estate tax returns.

 

Director:  Mr. Jonathan Cosner (Vineyard Columbus)

Jonathan Cosner is a member of Vineyard Columbus (Westerville, Ohio), and at various stages in his life has been an active participant in many different types of Christian congregations including Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Catholic, Episcopal, Mennonite, and empowered evangelical.  He is currently actively studying the Buddhist Theravada cannon and studying meditation/mindfulness according to the Zen and Shambhala schools of Buddhism.  He graduated from Capital University with a degree in Spanish and History, and currently studies mental health counseling at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio.  He is interested in the worldwide history of nonviolence, including movements spanning the 19th century up to present day including but not limited to the United States, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Vietnam, Germany, the Philippines, South Africa, and Tibet.

 

Director:  Ms. Shamsa Bashir Ali (Muslim Family Services)

Mrs. Shamsa Bashir Ali is a high school teacher by way of profession, is married and has four grown children.  She is very active in a variety of community activities, including working with Muslim Family Services of Ohio, participating in the Interfaith Association of Central Ohio’s Education Committee, being a mentor for the Columbus Inter-Faith Youth, and volunteering on the planning committee for the Good Neighbor’s Annual Picnic for the Homeless.  In her spare time, she likes to read, garden and travel.

 

Director:  Deacon Irene Radcliff (Episcopal Church)

Deacon Irene Radcliff is a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Social Welfare degree and Masters of Social Work degree. She is a licensed social worker and was active for more than twenty years in the social welfare and health service fields. 

Deacon Radcliff is also an active member in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio and the Episcopal Church. She was ordained in the Sacred order of Deacons in Christ’s One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, May 13, 2006.

She has served or is currently serving on the Evangelism Commission, Procter Camp and Conference Center Board of Managers, Hispanic Ministry Commission, Racism Training Task Force, and ECW representative on the Diocesan Council.  She has also served on several boards, councils, commissions and committees, a few being: the Seal of Ohio Girl Scout Council, Columbus Urban League, Amethyst, Leadership Columbus (Columbus Area Leadership Program), Board Development Network, United Way of Central Ohio and National Women’s Political Caucus.

Deacon Radcliff is the current president of The Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Southern Ohio. She is also active in several interfaith ministries, including the Horizon Prison Program at Marion Correctional Institution, and Kairos Community Outside of Ohio.  Deacon Radcliff also currently serves on the board of directors of Church Women United and B.R.E.A.D.
